Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend celebrating with both sides of the family numerous times.  It was wonderful to spend time with my darling kids and to enjoy the reason we celebrate Easter.
Ben and Lilli did get a little tired after all the egg hunts and eating!
Cooper, Boston and Camden are such good little buddies!  My boys adore him and copy everything he does.
We had fun at the Hansen Easter party, despite the weather, and ate good food, had pinatas, and hunted for way too much candy.
Cam and Coop checking out their haul after the hunt at the Burr party.
Grandpa helping the girls find their eggs.  We had an indoor hunt because of the rain!

Only Aunt Camille could get away with playing "pinch the quarter in your cheeks and drop it in the bucket 10 feet away" game at a party.  My boys thought it was hilarious!  What is up with boys and potty humor?
My Lulu was so happy to be playing with all the kids.  She couldn't believe all the candy she just picked up off the ground!

We had a great Easter and are so blessed to live close to so much family so we can celebrate together!

Prom Season

I have to point out that my mother sewed me this dress and I wore it circa 1992.  Jerianne wore it to prom and won the "Flashback Diva" award.  I was so proud!

Yes, although I graduated 13 years ago, some of my creative friends planned a prom night for us to attend.  I only went to prom twice, and I honestly don't remember my second date's name.  I can't even come close.  It was mostly a pity date where I just wore a dress I had from a wedding I was in, and I wasn't planning on going that year.  It was a very unmemorable night.
This year, however, I had the hottest date in town.  I had a sweet dress--that I have vowed never to wear again!  (I should have known that a short, poofy dress with short, poofy sleeves makes you look shorter and poofier than you already do.)
With that said, I got to make tin foil stars as decorations, and we met up to hang them for our evening "In the Still of the Night, let us Fall Into the Sky on a Moonlight Journey to stay Forever Young and Put on the Ritz Somewhere Out There in an Evening Under the Stars on the Stairway to Heaven in the Galaxy of Love, Only You (and me)....but if you don't want to come, I'm going With or Without You." (yep, that was our theme.)
Seriously, if you want an excellent and creative description of our evening, and with more pictures, check out Emily's blog.
We made boutineers, corsages, ate at JCW's, donned our best early 90s prom wear, applied more make up than normal, and I even added some baby's breath to my hair-do for extra nostalgia.  Some of our friends are a little younger that I, and needed some serious convincing that the lace overlay Jessica McClintock/Gunny Sak dresses used to be in style.
We had a great evening singing, eating, dancing and laughing.  Who knew prom could have good memories associated with it?
